Counselling

So, what does a 'psychotherapeutic counsellor' do?

A great question! A psychotherapeutic counsellor works in a way that builds a unique, trusting relationship with each client. I’ll listen carefully to you to explore your thoughts, feelings and ways of being. Part of me understanding you is how we experience each other in our working relationship.

Together we’ll spend time exploring the patterns and responses that have become part of who you are. Doing this builds a greater awareness of what is serving you well, and what may be getting in the way.

When we work together you will:

  • become clearer about who you are and what you need

  • identify what matters to you and how you can live in a way that is true to this

  • consider the choices and changes that you are able to make to take you where you want to be

These are the first steps in moving through whatever challenges you are experiencing.
